For the nonskier, the best resorts to visit Buffalo News
Skiers want nothing but to be on the slopes this time of year. But what if they bring friends or family along who don’t ski?Shermans Travel, a publisher of travel deals and destination advice, has come up with a list of the best ski resorts in the world for nonskiers. They are:
• Austria’s Bad Gastein, home to 18 natural hot springs in addition to challenging snow bowls and high-altitude views. Shermans Travel recommendation for value lodging: Haus Hirt Hotel & Spa.
• Megeve, France, where no one hits the slopes before 11 a. m. and lunch can take hours. Local Michelin-rated eateries include Flocons de Sel, La Ferme de Mon Pere, and the hidden Domaine de la Sasse, reached by a 20-minute hike on snowshoes.
• Mont Tremblant in Quebec, where skiers love the wide runs and nonskiers love the pedestrian- friendly village with good food and great apres-ski. Value lodging recommendation from Shermans: Chateau Beauvallon.
• Park City, Utah, which has terrain for every skier, and attractions for nonskiers like nightclubs, shows at the Egyptian Theatre, the Olympic Sports Park and the Sundance Film Festival each January.

What are the best "at home" spa fixes you can think of?
So I want to have a day of pampering myself without the cost of a hoity-toity spa. What are some spa like remedies that I could do at home?
Slather your hands and feet with lotion and put on gloves and socks while you wait for a mask and deep conditioner to set. You'll be so soft and smooth. Overnight is good too.
mash an avocado to make a nice facial mask
wash hair with shampoo and baking soda, rinse, apply deep conditioner (or olive oil), wrap hair in plastic and then in a hot towel and let sit for 20 minutes
What are some good at home spa treatments?
What are some good at home spa treatments?
Im pms sooo bad, and I just feel crappy. I need to give myself a spa... but what kind and what kind of stuff should I do?
One good homemade mask recipe:
1/3 cup plain whole milk yogurt, 2 tbsp. honey & a bit of ground oatmeal. Apply a layer & leave it on for 10 mins. Rinse off w/ tepid water.
Yogurt - loosens dead skin cells
Honey - humectant w/ anti-bacterial properties
Oatmeal - optional; soothes & helps remove dry skin
Other face mask recipes for oily skin are: crush up 6 plain, uncoated aspirin tablets and mix it w/ a little water to make mask.
Mix 6 aspirin tablets with a little aloe to make a mask.
Use about 6 uncoated tablets, witch hazel, tee trea oil, and aloe to make a thin paste.
For toner:
8 ounce bottle of distilled water add four uncoated aspirin
or
mix of 1/2 water, 1/2 witch hazel, 15 aspirin, and 2 drops of tea tree essential oil and 2 drops of rosemary essential oil

Another nice thing to do is to give yourself a manicure & just buff your nails. Then massage your hands w/ lotion & apply vitamin E oil to your nails. http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-file-and-buff-your-nails
there is going to be a home spa at my house, and i need you help!?
at my house we are building a home spa. and i get to do most of the decorating. what should i put in the spa. like what kind of things?
Naturally it depends on what kind of decorating you like to do and what type of budget you have if any. I couldn't help myself and had to mention this first... If money were no option (which would be the fun part!) then you could do just about anything naturally....this may or may not suit you but I'm thinking outside the "box" for something different...you could have a koi fish pond in the floor and an arched walkway over it leading to your spa. (Yep, I'm thinking indoors or out with this idea!) I would add some plants with this type of decor and maybe even have like an indoor garden and seating area.
Now, coming down to the reality of most budgets.... It would be nice to have an open shower (big enough for two)...and of course you'll need a special robe, matching slippers and a soft Turkish towels ready for the oooh and aaah feeling after this spectacular spa treatment! A seating area with a table and a mini bar would be a great addition to enjoy a cool drink to add to this whole experience. If you like to read why not add a built in bookshelf as well? Or have one that hangs on the wall. You can get as comfy or as elaborate as you like. It's the whole experience... your own private getaway. Not just a spa sitting in your home! Plants would be the final touches here and there.
You could even add a fireplace near the sitting area when the cooler season approaches.
I could get into more details but I hope to have tickled your decorating taste buds!
Hope this helps!
How can you have your own spa at home for free?
I cant make a mess or make things, so what should i do. Im stressed over retarted ppl in my school so i want to relax and have a home spa. Who can help me?
Just find things around yur house! Moisturizers, lotions, and beauty products!
how do you give yourself the at home spa treatment?
like what ingredients do you need for face mask, relaxation anything else you can do at home?
Avocado is great for moisturizing the face for a mask.
Also, you can put milk and very strong chamomile tea in your bath and your choice of lavender, rose, or even some vanilla in order to make your bath seem luxurious.
A few other things you can do is get your most comfortable (and cute) outfit out and warm it with an iron and set it out for when you get out of your bath.
Websites for at home spa things?
I want WEBSITES for at home spa recipes(lotions, face masks, scrubs etc.). Please give me a website that will have recipes that are ingreadients that a normal person would have in their KITCHEN. I dont want to have to go to the store! please and thank you in advance!
http://www.spaindex.com/HomeSpa/HomeSpa.htm
is a good spa website. when you open the window, it will look like a store. but, when your scroll down, you will find like 500 recipes in blue. click on a link that seems most appealing and it will give you a recipe or an at home substitute for it.

at home spa recipes?
i want some at home spa recipes that actually work, and dont use things that are uncommon in the household.
i have oatmeal, salt, sugar. i dont really know what all you use in the recipes, so yeah. and i would like the actual recipes, not the links to sites. thanks :]
Here's a few that I found for you:
Cinnamon Oatmeal Milk Bath
1 cup cornstarch
2 cups powdered milk
1/2 cup oatmeal (not instant)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Mix all ingredients in blender or food processor until it is a fine powder.
Add about 2 Tbs mixture to your bathwater for a soothing bath.

Spa Sea Salt Scrub
2 cups sea salt
1 1/3 cups aloe vera baby oil or soya oil
8 vitamin E, capsules
2 tablespoons honey
Combine all ingredients in an airtight container.
Break open the vitamin E capsules and squeeze out the vitamin E into the mixture.
Mix well.
Add a bit to your hand or a bath mitt and rub all over.
Rinse off well.
*If you are going to use soybean oil, then you may or may not want to add a bit of essential oils for frangrance.*.
*You can play around with the ingredients, to make the mixture more gritty or less gritty.

Relaxation - Spa Quality Bath Salts
1 cup dead sea salt
1 1/2 tablespoons dendritic salt
15 drops english lavender oil
10 drops chamomile essential oils
Add Lavender and Chamomile Essential Oils to Dendritic salt and mix well. Dendritic salt holds scent better and longer and also helps to prevent clumping.
Once mixed well, combine with Dead Sea Salt and mix well once more.
Begin filling tub with WARM - NOT HOT water. Add up to 1 cup of Bath Salts Mixture and let dissolve while filling tub.
For maximum benefit, soak at least 15 minutes to allow the body to absorb the therapeutic minerals and oils. I have myofascial pain and fibromyalgia and this helps when my back and legs are giving me fits. It works best if you splurge a little and purchase good qualty ingredients, but also works with the cheaper supplies.
How to have a relaxing at home spa day?
I would like to have a laid back, relaxing spa day.
Any tips, recipes, or things you do to make your spa day wonderful?
all are appreciated
oooo! me too! I am so bored right now! OMG I think that I am going to see if I can buy a really good book like the third book from the twilight series. Then I am going to clean my room and make my bed with clean sheets then I am going to have my spa day...
1. make plans for something to do tonight w/friends
side note: Make yourself a really good smoothie to kick off your spa day and make a really good cd to listen to while you are doing your spa
2. Pick out a really cute outfit
3. Take a bubble bath or a streaming hot shower
4. Leave streaming shower on (creating a sauna)
5. Wash face with facial scrub then put on face mask
6. While still in the bathroom paint toes and fingers
7. Then take off face wash and blow dry hair
8. put on cute outfit and style hair
9. Put on make up
10. Yeah! I feel relaxed
lol hope this helps ahahaha
I want to have a at home spa birthday party for my daughter, any ideas on what I should do?
She's turning 5, we're inviting 4 other little girls around her age and I know girls love to play dress up. I was looking for some kid friendly "spa" treatments.
OHHHHHH - when my daughter turned 7 we had a spa party and it was awesome!!! We had 3 “stations” - one was the facial station where you got washed, massaged and your choice of a mask applied, 2nd station was the manicure station where you had your hands soaked then massaged and your choice nail polish (when then they got to keep), lastly we had a pedicure station where we had 3 of those pedicure feet bath things - they soaked for 5 min and then got polish applied after a mini massage.
I had 2 of my friends come over so each of us to run a station so the girls didn’t have to wait around to have stuff done. After the girls were all relaxed and done with their treatments they popped in a movie and cuddled up with blankets and sleeping bags. After the movie the ones that were still awake talked til the fell asleep.
We gave out gift purses with their nail polish, a mini bottle of water, the headband that kept their hair back while the facial and a CD that my daughter made with all their favorite songs.
It was a little more expensive but worth it cuz we all had a great time.
