A facial for your, um, “other cheeks” Macleans.ca

Not that there aren’t questions. “Like you,” says Dominguez-Grajales, “most people who haven’t heard about the treatment ask, ‘Is this what I think it is?’ ” The Ritz-Carlton has featured the Divine Derriere for nearly two years. “At first, everyone was like, ‘Oh, let’s see who gets that!’ And, now, we don’t think twice about it. Think about how many people go to other countries to get surgeries to get nice lifted butts. This is a non-invasive treatment.” Though clients, she agrees, can’t help but giggle. “At first everyone is ‘tee hee’ because they have to say it. But our therapists are professional.”

Dominguez-Grajales came up with the name the Divine Derriere. “It’s very South Beach. It’s fun and elegant. We couldn’t use the term ‘fanny’ because in England, that refers to a woman’s private parts.” The US$75 treatment, for what Dominguez-Grajales describes as “a very delicate area,” lasts 30 minutes, quick enough to be effective and penetrate the skin, but not long enough to start to feel uncomfortable.

What is the name of these facial cleansing cloths?

They are square and white like most facial cleansing cloths but these are fairly shiny and are made of fabic in a fairly tight weave. One side has soap and the other side feels rough on your skin and is very exfoliating. I can't remember what kind they are so I can buy them again. Any thoughts?

i think a loofah?

I have clear skin, but whenever i use a facial cleansing product i get red bumps?

I don't have a oily, dry, or pimply face. But sometimes i have blackheads or clogged pours. I noticed after i use any facial cleansing product i get red bumps. I suspect I need gentle washes. Any suggestions?

I would go with a more gentle approach or even a natural one.
Another suggestion is witch hazel you can just dab it on the affected areas without doing your whole face.
Don't use soap off any kind of wash your face.
Lemon juice is also a good facial cleanser but you wouldn't need to use it every day similar to withchazel just dab in the affected areas it will dry out and fight against the bacteria that is on your face hence why you get breakouts now and then.
Also look for a natural olive oil based moisturiser or an almond one.
best of luck with things.
For soaps look for a natural based one as well.

When you wash your face, make sure that you're not doing a bunch of rubbing or "scrubbing" with your hands. Gently wash your face. The clogged pores and blackheads can actually be a result of your washing your face too harshly. The redness should go away as long as you're not using anything with a high degree of acne medication that your skin can't tolerate.

Maybe you're allergic to it or it's too rough for your face. Stop using the product and buy something more gentle.

Maybe u shouldn't use facial cleansing products anymore bcuz they don't always work evrytime. Maybe u should just try washing ur face with a regular washcloth with warm water or if u really want 2 use a cleansing product use clean and clear cuz it really works. Good Luck

what's the new Neutrogena facial cleansing device called?

what's the new Neutrogena facial cleansing device called? I seen it on a comercial a few days ago, and im pretty curious, It was a handheld facial cleaning device and it was white and pink, Im pretty sure it was battery powered. If so, does it work? Is it worth buying?

it's called the neutrogena wave.
http://www.neutrogenawave.com/?s_kwcid=neutrogena%20wave|1027084470&gclid=CIHmtqHrsZQCFQpjnAodbAuEhg

it's available in 3 colors. (pink, green and blue.)

when i went to wal-mart a couple of days ago it cost about 12 dollars and the pads you buy to clean your face with are about 6 or 7.

The neutrogena wave isn't meant to clear break-outs, you use it to keep your skin clear, but some people will buy the neutrogena oil free acne wash and put it on the pad so that their cleaning their face too. I've heard that it makes your skin super soft and it's fun to use. I really want to try it.

the wave.

Facial Cleansing?

I have severe (in my opinion) blackheads on my nose. I don't get pimples often. I use clean + clear facial scrub, but that only leaves them semi clear for a few hours after I get out of the shower, and then by the end of the day, it's just as bad as it was before. Is there anything I can do to make them go away and stay gone?

By the way, I'm 17.

get a deep pore facial from a professional, once all the blackheads are removed, start cleansing and toning your face twice a day. the cleanser will remove makeup and excess dirt . The toner applied with a cotton ball will give you a deeper clean, this should control your clogging.
Do not attempt to squeeze them yourself as this could leave you with enlarged pores!! Leave it to the professional then you can keep your skin thoroughly clean..

ya use a spot treatment gel

I use the clean and clear stuff too and it doesn't work well I'll be interested to see answers.

Good luck

;-)

I would recommend a facial with extractions. After that, use a good facial scrub and masque once or twice a week. Stay away from those products with harmful chemicals, however.

I would like to make my own facial cleansing pads. is it possible to do this and have it be good for the skin?

I have oily, sensitive skin especially in the t-zone and i thought i would be nice to a homemade acne treatment/facial cleansing system.

I know that Witch Hazel is a really good remedy for oily skin. Next time you go to a pharmacy, like CVS or Rite Aid, buy some. It's cheap, and it is usually next to the rubbing alcohol and peroxide. If you make your own facial cleansing pads, make sure you include it in there!

How often should you get a deep cleansing facial if your skin are breakout prone?

I read in a magazine before that with breakout prone skin sometimes a facial is actually bad for you. I have only had facial once but never a deep cleansing.

My brother has bad acne prone skin and got a deep cleansing facial once. It'll make you break out more because it is drawing impurities out of your skin. Instead of a facial I would get a mask to help unclog pores, but again it's drawing gunk out so you'll break out. If you get one, spread out your facials, once a month is sufficient. Good luck!

i would not get a facial if you are breakout prone. my friends getting one and they told her she cant have any breaks out what so ever when she gets it done.

Be cautious when using a harsh cleanser on your face. Sometimes the problem is the chemicals your skin comes in contact with and not actually the skin its self. Try to keep a record of things you came in contact with or ate at the time of a flair up. This might help you decide if it is environmental or physical.

every 3-4 days

Should I use a facial sauna before or after cleansing?

I just purchased a facial sauna that is supposed to steam open pores. My question is, should I steam before or after cleansing? Generally, my facial cleansing just consists of rinsing as much makeup off my face as I can with plain water and a soft cloth, then use a gentle cleansing facial wipe to remove the residue and that's all. On the evenings I choose to do a deeper cleansing with the sauna, should I use it before or after the cleansing cloth? Or should I do it first? I wonder if that would leave my pores at risk for makeup residue getting in them if I don't cleanse everything off first.

Use it before so your pores will be open when you scrub or exfoliate. then use cold water to rinse and close the pores up again to avoid dirt from air pollutants entering the skin.

Steam, Cleanse, Tone, (Mask if needed) Moisturize.

You need to open your pores to make them more receptive to the cleanser.. Once cleansed you will close the pores with your toner to trap the good stuff in.

That's what we do in the spa! Give it a try.

Use it after the cleanser always!

What I would do is use a basic make up cleanser to take off the entire make up residue, and then use the facial sauna to open up all your pours it should only take a few minutes. After that I would use a special cleanser that clears out black heads and closes up your pours so that after black heads can't form. I recommend a masque that dries and you can just peal off - St. Ives makes lots of really nice products for this.

I usually clean me face first other wise you will notice the make up build up around the top of the sauna where you put your face in and after you use the sauna put on a light face cream

Steam, Cleanse, Tone, (Mask if needed) Moisturize.

What facial cleansing products do you use? ?

What is the best facial cleansing mask for sensitive skin?

A lot of products I have used give me an allergic reaction and break my face out.

Thanks in advance

I use simple purifying cleansing lotion, simple toner and then I'll use their protecting moisture cream in the morning and their restoring night cream at night - although sometimes I'll use simple derma cream instead when my skin is feeling dry or if I've been out in the sun or wearing alot of makeup.

I don't get on too well with face masks - alot of them just make my skin dry. Best one I've found is one by simple (again!) - they make good stuff for sensitive skin :)

how can I reduce red marks left in my face after a facial cleansing?

I had a facial today and it has left my face with lost of red areas, like marks, not uniform.

I'd appreciate any tips with at-home remedies. Brand products will be gladly taken into consideration as well. I'd just like to tone them down before I go back to work on Tuesday.

A nice oatmeal mask should soothe that for you...

1/2 cup powdered oats
2 tablespoons honey
1 squished gel-cap of vitamin E or about 10 vitamin E drops
1 teaspoon sunflower oil, or any other liquid oil such as olive oil
optional:
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix the ingredients in a dish. Add enough water to make a paste. Warm your skin and open pores with warm compresses. Apply to skin and leave on for 10 minutes or more. Rinse. Rub a tiny bit of liquid vegetable oil on normally dry areas.

What are some natural, organic cleansers for daily facial cleansing?

I know that having a poor diet, stress, and other factors can cause acne but what is something natural that I can use on my face daily for cleansing. I don't want to use salicylic acid or benzol peroxide based products all the time, I have recently learned that they can have long-term effects.........
-no store products, maybe something homemade?

I know what you mean! There are so many chemicals in a lot of the products on the market these days. When I had acne breakouts I would wash my face with diluted baking soda, vinegar or lemon juice, then follow with an egg white mask or cooled-down oatmeal mask. It worked for me and I feel better knowing that I am using ingredients that are safe enough to eat! Good luck. :)
