My skin gets really dry when i wash it, i use face cream but it doesn't do the trick, are there any good hydrating masks out there?

When my skin gets dried during winter- i make my own mask. I use a teaspoon of honey and a table spoon of oatmeal and a table spoon of milk. I mix them together and put it on my face for about 10 minutes and my skin gets really smooth and soft. I dont like using store brought mask bc they really dont make much of a difference on my skin. I hope this helps. If ur allergic to honey use banana instead, for milk use soy milk, and oatmeals use sugar.

anyone know a good home made hydrating mask for dry skin?

green tea, rice flour and banana. Make some green tea, take a few tablespoons of the tea mix with a table spoon or 2 of rice flour - just fiddle about till you get the right consistency. Then you mash a banana and add that, that'l moisturise. Leave it on for 15mins and wash it off.

how do u properly peel off a hydrating facial mask without leaving anything on your skin?

If you scratch around the edge of the mask it make it allot easier to peel off in one go, I allways do this because I have had some messy times with face masks.

I think they both work equaly as well, I like Equate because of the price.

In other words will it clog your pores???

I read that in order for a product to be considered non-comedogenic, EVERY ingredient has to be non-comedogenic. So is it?

Also will it stain your clothing at all?--particulary your shirt collar?
Also if anyone has used it. . . how do you like it? how did it make your skin look&feel? did it make you break out or anything?

What is the normal tip to give someone doing a skin analysis/facial?

I recieved a spa package as a gift consisting of a skin analysis, mini-facial, eyebrow wax, and product prescription for the first visit, Cleansing Treatment, exfoliation treatment, face, neck, and decollete massage for the second visit, and a Follu-up Skin Care COnsultation, Facial Cleanse, revitalizing eye treatment, neck firming treatment, facial neck and decollete massage, and a Hydrating facial mist treatment for the third visit. What should I tip the person when they're finished? Should I tip differently every visit, since the treatments get much more extensive each time, or should I tip the same everytime?

In the USA, services are tipped from 10%-20%. Tipping is not mandatory, so you don't have to tip at all, but take into consideration that the clinicians earn most of their salary from tips. Keeping that in mind, a provider of personal services should do their best to provide excellent care for you, so always tip someone based on their performance, not on a suggested percentile. I find the Nivea masks really good. It sounds like you'd want the sea mineral one. In Aust you can get them in supermarkets and chemists and they are only about $4AUD. I don't know where you are so I can't tell you where you might find them. Sorry. I hope you find something that suits you. Good Luck.

What's your favorite hydrating / moisturizing facial mask under $15?

Even though I use a gentle cleanser (Cetaphil) and moisturize daily, the skin on my cheeks and forehead is still really dry and flaky. With Winter coming, it's only going to get worse with the cold, dry air.

I'd like to buy a mask (or other facial treatment) that I can use weekly that will rehydrate and moisturize my face. I'm on a budget, so please keep the answers under $15, or inexpensive home-remedies.

Also, if you happen to know of any herbal supplements or foods that will help hydrate my skin, I'd love to hear about those too. I already drink a ton of water.

The moisturizer that I'm currently using is Aveeno Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15.

I had no idea about the Cetaphil-- I always thought that was the most gentle (my dermatologist recommended it!) Looks like I need to make a few changes in my skincare regimen.

I just tried this 2 days ago and it works so good My skin has never felt this rehydrated or soft

Avocado & Honey Face Mask (For dry skin)
2 tablespoons of avocado
2 tablespoons honey
1 egg yolk
Mash up the avocado, add the honey and egg. Mix it all together. Apply to face.

Also just try avocado works great for skin keep on skin for 15-20 min ( i use it on my eyes too its supposed to get rid of puffy dark eyes and its a great wrinkle preventor)

Gentle Facial Cleanser
1/2 cup oatmeal or cornmeal
plain yogurt (add enough yogurt to form a paste)
For a gentle facial cleanser mix ingredients, smooth over entire face avoiding eye area. Wash off with warm water.

Oatmeal is highly absorptive, hypoallergenic, and helps to soften skin. Oats have the best amino acid balance of all the cereal grains (amino acids work as water-binding agents in skin care products). Oats have also been clinically shown to help heal dry, itchy skin.

Banana Supreme Facial Mask
(dry skin)
2 medium bananas
* honey optional
Mash bananas with a fork...dont over mash or it will be too runny. Add honey* if desired. Smooth over skin, let sit for 10 minutes, rinse off with cool water.

Oh and also try ST IVES APRICOT SCRUB its a moisturizing exfoliater great for getting rid of dry flaky skin yet its gentle and moisturizing Ive used this product for 2 years with great results and i was a poster child for bad skin ill use this forever
I like aveeno too i also have ultra calming it works pretty good
