Christian gets a Massage in Pushkar, Rajastan, India, chock full of energy...

massage...?

I got a massage this morning, and the therapist pulled the sheet all the way off of me. I didnt say anything because I wasnt uncomfortable. I just thought it was strange; what do you think?

Laws are different in each country or state so wether this was legal depends on your location. In any case, if you were covered by a sheet in the beginning, it should never have been removed without your permission first.

Um.... gosh, well I would have said, like um, next time can you please NOT do that..
I have had ALLOT of massages in my life and NO ONE has ever done that to me EVER...

That is more than strange.. it is unprofessional...and BAD...

Is this a one owner massage salon? or something like that?
BECAREFUL next time.. I just hope this was a mistake...
Guess give the person the benefit of the doubt. but beware...

There are ALLOT of weirdo's of ALL SEXES!!!!!out there...

I had a great 2 hr. massage when I was in Hawaii and I don't remember being "totally" exposed at all. hmmmm. ???

no, they are not supposed to take the sheet totally off, next time ask for a different therapist.

well that was bad draping and there is always a possibility that it was and accident ar that is was on purpose, deepending on where you live, this person could be a fraud because going through massage school you are intesly trained on draping techniqes. and that should't have happened either way.

Guy or girl? Either way they should respect that even if you didnt mind.

Massage therapy: How do you make the most money working as a massage therapist?

I am becoming a massage therapist. When I begin working how can I make the most money? Should I rent out a room or work directly for a company and get paid through them? Or some other way I might not know about. Thanks for the advice in advance.

What is the difference between a powder massage and a relax massage in Budapest baths?

I am traveling to Budapest and would like to visit one of the famous thermal baths there. Looking at their prices for services, I see that there are two types of massages offered: powder massage and relax massage. What is the difference between the two? Which one is a more intense, deep tissue massage?

I think you've seen the site www.spasbudapest.com. there is no real answer there and in the hungarian sites for your problem but the simpliest method to settle this send an email to the info@budapestgyogyfurdoi.hu.
the email button can be found in the bottom right of the site I mentioned above.
you are welcome there.

What is the style of massage called when the person walks on your back?

I want to learn more about the style of massage where the person giving the massage walks on the person receiving the massage's back. I was told it was Thai massage but I don't know what to call it to find out more! I am interested in learning how to do this but I don't want to break someone's back trying!

Ashiatsu certification is a 3-part process. Cost is $550 to learn the basics and is available to massage therapists only.

I should add that there are other barefoot Swedish therapies. Receiving a Thai massage is similar to doing yoga, except the therapist is manipulating your body into stretches and positions!

I don't know the name of it but it feels real good. I weigh 200 and the person that walked on it was 117. It felt really good too

Is that a 'foot massage'? <wink...I couldn't resist>

It sure sounds good, though, just the thought of it!

Kelley

It is called Barefoot Shiatsu

What type of massage is best for shoulder and back tension?

I've never gotten a professional massage before, and I'm trying to figure out what kind would be best for my situation. I'm a musician with bad neck, shoulder, and back tension. Would a deep tissue massage be too intense for a first-timer? What is a reasonable price for a 45-60 min massage?

For getting a massage for the first time deep tissue will leave you sore. The soreness comes from the lactic acid that is accumulated from contracted muscles not getting enough oxygen which in turn causes knots or adhesions. When you are tense all the time we take shorter breaths and you're body stays positioned in one place for too long.

Get a therapeutic or customized massage meaning they adjust the pressure to you're muscle tonality and you should not feel uncomfortable. A resonable price for a 1 hour massage is $55- $75. I would suggest getting a 30 minute on you're upper body ( neck, back, shoulders, arms, hands, pec's and scalp) This is around $25-$45. See you're therapist at least every other week or once a month. Massage should be therapeutic and relaxing...even deep tissue is not supposto hurt it defeats the purpose. If you are in pain during a massage you're body feels that it is under attack and you start to tense up and you're money goes to waste no theraputic release has happened, just added stress.

After you're massage physically you will feel very fluid like you have full mobility of you're muscles and you will feel very light. You might feel some soreness but it should be tolerable...just drink lots of water and make sure you are taking some kind of calcium suppliment to absorb the lactic acid.

Also make sure you're therapist has a pleasent demenor about them that they respect you're body and pain tolerance and speak up if you have and uncomfortableness. and most importantly allow you're self to trust and release =)

It depends on who you go to. Massage Envy and other franchises are cheap like about$50-$60 an hour. They usually hire entry level massage therapists but you can occasionally find a more experienced one.

Just go to someone who is recommended to you. Ask your family and co-workers who they go to. It is not unusual to pay $70-100 for a good hour of massage. It will really help you in more ways than you can know like help you create and play music by helping you to be more relaxed and tuned into yourself.

For your first time I suggest you start with a swedish massage. If you feel it could of been deeper try a deep tissue the next time. Or even a hot rock massage. Those are great for back and neck tension. If you think you can handle it then go ahead and start with deep tissue, just tell them if it's too much and you will be fine. If you don't enjoy your experience try again with a different therapist. Not all massage therapists are created equal. As for the price it depends on where you are. $60 is a good price here, $50 is a great price. And if you go to a school you can find a good therapist for $20-$30 Good luck!

How do you massage your self to get rid of cellulite?

I have some cellulite on my hips that i want to reduce a little. I heard that if you massage it, some of it will go away. How do you massage it though? What kind of technique?

Homeopathic Treatment for Excessive Fat and Weight :-
PHYTOLACCA BERRY's Mother Tincture is perhaps the safest and sure fire way of loosing excessive fat around abdomen. With Phytolacca Berry once you loose the excessive fat and weight you don't get it back because you body takes care of itself after that and keeps you from gathering up excessive fat. It is prescribed after having a baby too, to get the tummy to loose its flab and to make it flatter and tighter. And after loosing weight with this you don't get flabby it tightens up the flab and skin along with helping your body to shed the excessive accumulation of fat around the girth
The dosage is 15 to 20 drops of the tincture in half a cup of hot water thrice a day half hour before or after meals.
Avoid Chocolates, Coffee, Mints, Red Meat and Carbonated and Alcoholic drinks while taking Homeopathic Medicines. You have to take it for at least 30 to 45 days after that you start to feel the results.
To the best of my knowledge its the safest and the most sure fire way of loosing fat and weight and keeping it of for keeps. Excellent remedy for Obese people who cant seem to shed weight despite trying.
Homeopathic Remedies can be found at all Major Herbal Stores or could be bought on line, In most of the world Homeopathic remedies are quite cheap and easy to find and they do not need a prescription.
Take care and God Bless !

It doesn't work, you need to diet and exercise. Try the south beach diet, it's awesome I lost 30 lbs and my mom lost 60 lbs. Give it a shot!

Actually it's brushing that helps. You use a hand brush made for cellulite,it'll be made of natural hairs, sometimes cactus fibers. Rubbing vigorously and then using cellulite-decreasing preparations will help reduce the appearance of cellulite. My sister does it and it's made an amazing difference.

a little lesson on cellulite: women have connective tissue that lines the inside of the skin. most women have 'honeycomb' shaped openings in this connective tissue. when adipose tissue (fat) builds up under the connective tissue, it pushes up into it and what you see is that dimpling or 'cottage cheese' look on the skin.

while some people have said that massage helps, the medical jury is still out on that...a lot of times the only real way to reduce cellulite is to reduce the fat tissue in that area (and don't feel bad, there are plenty of 100 lb women out there with cellulite!!). The massage that spas offer for cellulite are usually deep tissue massages with certain herbs they rub into the skin to 'tighten' the skin. I'm pretty skeptical about 'easy' solutions such as that - but even if it did work, it would be difficult to recreate that at home.

Massage area with warm coffee grounds and then wrap area with plastic wrap to keep grounds on skin for 10 minutes. Or just massage for 10 minutes.

How can I massage a knot out of my husbands back shoulder?

My husband has a cronic knot, or what feels like a tense ball in his back, left shoulder muscle. I have been trying to work it out with massage. It has been getting smaller but I can't seem to totally work it out. Any suggestions? Also, the ball of tension seems to move around a little as I massage. Thanks!

Try using your elbow on it in a circular motion. I did this for my fiance and it worked great. I guess I could get more pressure doing it that way. Another thing to do with knots is direct, steady, continuous pressure for a few seconds. You have to put quite a lot of pressure on it--almost to the point of being painful (sorry).

You might want to use a muscle rub as well (Ben Gay, Icy Hot, whatever you have). Then apply some heat with a heating pad or hot cloth. You could even put some heat on before you massage to start to loosen up the muscle. If he can do any stretches that stretch that area, that will also help. Good luck.

That ball is a knot of toxins and yes as you rub it out it will get smaller. Use alot of oil or lotion when doing so and use your elbow instead of your hands. My wife does that for me and it makes a ton of difference. The pain is harsh but it helps. If he grimmaces in pain you are doing good.

it sounds strange but get him to lay on the floor and put a tennis ball directly on the knot and just roll back and forth on the ball...:) make sure he drinks lots and lots of water after you massage it..try your elbow but use plenty of lotion..drink water!!!

What is the best massage oil to us when giving you wife a home massage?

Just a relazing massage nothing to do with sex. She just gave birth to our third child 1 month ago so I still have a couple weeks left before I can get lucky again.

KY has come out with some new massage lotions and oils, of which I have tried. They are excellent for just giving someone a regular massage. They have a variety of scents, and can be purchased at any drug or department store. You can read about them here
