Caravan sites under grey cloud Nambucca Guardian News

The owners of semi-permanent caravans on Scotts Head reserve face an uncertain future, as council debates future plans for the site.

Owners of the vans are expected to speak at Nambucca Shire Council’s fortnightly meeting today (17th) to ask that the semi-permanents not be removed.

The part of the caravan park that houses these vans is owned by council, but managed by the Scotts Head Reserve Trust. It has been suggested that, due to the costs of upgrading the services to this area in the future, council remove these vans under the Scotts Head Master Plan.

If that happened, Armidale-based owner Chris Preston said Scotts Head would find itself out of pocket.

“I use it on weekends and for holidays, and we all (semi-permanent van owners) support the local shops and the club,” he said.

“Some current full-time residents started off as semi-permanent owners. We support Scotts Head.”

He said the van owners maintained that area, meaning council did not have to mow or

Is gaining your opponents permanents a plausible tactic for a new player in MTG?

I am fairly new at MTG and I made a blue and white deck. My strategy is to gain control of my opponent's permanents. Is it a good tactic? And should I add a planeswalker to my deck?

It's a viable deck, sure. Decks like that can be a lot of fun. But is it going to win much in a tournament? Probably not. Look at it this way: in a competitive duel, most permanents are going to be cheap powerhouses - Mogg Fanatic, Troll Ascetic, etc. That means that, most of the time, you're going to be trading down - what's the point in using Persuasion on a 3-mana creature? Not much. Its not usually going to help you much, and your opponent didn't lose much.

Now, there are times when spells like Persuasion are very good. But as the basis for a competitive deck? Not so much. Fun, but not powerful.

That is one strategy that can work, depending on what cards you have. A lot of cards that gain control of your opponent's permanents have high mana costs and make your deck really slow unless you have a way to get a lot of land or mana. It is a good tactic, but depending on your skill level, it might not be something you'll be ready for yet if you're new to building decks. As for the planeswalker, if you understand how to use it, then by all means put it into a deck. Planeswalkers are basically flawless (in my opinion). Stick them in any deck and they make it better. As long as the Planeswalker you're using doesn't work in oppositin with the type of deck you've built.

permanents?

would getting a permanent to make your hair straight ruin your ability to curl it with curlers or a curling iron?

No you can still curl your hair with a curling iron and what not.

In magic the gathering, a card says that the power and strenght equals to the black permanents you control?

In magic the gathering, a card says that the power and strenght equals to the black permanents you control, does the land count? (swamp) If not, what are the black permanents? Whats the difference? i thought lands are permanents!

Lands are indeed permanents, but (this is important) lands NEVER have a color unless some effect specifically states them to. Swamps (and all other lands) are colorless and are not counted when an effect counts permanents of a color.

How do you tell what color a permanent is? It's determined by the casting cost (and possibly by effects that change color), any permanent with a black mana in the casting cost is a black permanent (unless some effect specifically says it isn't), even if you didn't use black mana to cast it (possible for cards with split or guild mana costs). It is quite possible for a permanent to have multiple colors at the same time.

There are older magic cards that draw effects from the number of lands of a certain type in play, but they have nothing to do with this question.

black permanents are the swamps that you control

swamps ARE permenents but NOT black permenents
there just lands

the creature nightmare has power and toughness = to the number of swamps you control

Lands are colourless. The colour of a card is determined by it's casting cost, so a land is colourless.

a permanent is anything in play, but land has no color... so, if you had the creature with power and toughness equal to black permanents you control and it's the only black permanent you have in play, then it would be a 1/1 creature.

Are permanents transformed into an artifact with Memnarch still artifacts once they go to a graveyard?

In magic the Gathering:
Can I use an ability to return an artifact in my graveyard to my hand and target a permanent that was transformed into an artifact by Memnarch?

The ability says it does not end at the end of turn.

Please provide some evidence if able to.

The duration of the effect of Memnarch is for as long as the transformed permanent is in play. Once it leaves play (even if it comes back again), it loses all memory of ever being an artifact.

Are home permanents ok to use, or do they make your hair look weird?

I'd like to save money and do my body perms myself - how likely am I to get a good result? I don't want tight curls or a "fried" or frizzy look.

i want to stress PERMANENT here... unless you are totaly confident I would spend on a hair dresser because if you mess up you are stuck for a while or end up going to a hairdresser anyway to get rid of them
take the plunge

Is it normal for a teething puppy to loose all bottom teeth between canines with no permanents in site?

She has plain soft gum where the teeth used to be and acts like they're sore. I always thought the baby teeth fell out as the permanent came in. I'm worried she might need to see a vet or is this normal.? She's a pekengese/shih-tzu/toy poodle mix. She's almost 6 months old and has been chewing constantly since about 8 weeks of age. This is the first sign of lost teeth to date.

Yes, it is normal, just as with human children.
If they don't grow in within a month, she should see the vet. Meanwhile, moisten her food.

Note: don't use human teething gel for her, as it is toxic to dogs.

yes this is normal. if she is acting like her gums are sore, then the new teeth are probably on their way. you can check with your vet to get her some teething gel if you are worried about her discomfort. kindof like they have for human babies.

Yes, just like human babies.

yes this is quite normal. my pup lost most of her teeth within one week .... i was woried abouther. but as she teethed and chewed they came through. dont worry.

yes the puppy will be fine the permanent teeth will come in

It's normal. New teeth will eventually grow in their place though. I have a 4 month old mixed breed pup and she's been loosing almost all her teeth, except for her canines. I found one on the floor this morning and were gonna put it under her pillow for the tooth fairy. lol.

Something you could try though is to wet a wash cloth and twist it up, then put it in the freezer. When it gets cold and firm you can give it to her to chew on. It helps when pups are teething. My pup loves it.

Short-faced dogs loose teeth easily. It is a side effect of dwarfism. She could have been chewing or pulling on anything--a cloth, a toy, just anything and pulled them out herself. At 6 mo her permanent teeth should be in and her canines should be getting loose and ready to fall out. If she accidentally pulled out her permanent teeth on bottom they won't come back. Are you sure she never had her permanent teeth come in down there and accidentally lost them? It is not unusual for pekes to loose teeth accidentally at all.

yea, she is just getting older so they are ready to fall out. I wounld worry about it.

It is normal but can be different with ever dog. My first two I never even saw them loose there puppy teeth. My newest lost them right in front of me. One thing to watch out for is if the adult teeth grow in and they puppy teeth are still there. In that case it can cause health problem and they will need to be pulled. Another thing to keep in mind with smaller dogs is they can be prone to loosing there adult teeth. I met a guy who's Yorkie lost her adult teeth just chewing on bones and by the time she was 4 only had half her teeth left.

In the mean time they make some great toys at places like Petsmart that can be frozen. They make similar things for human babies. They cool feeling can help there gums feel better when teething. My puppy loved them when he was young and still loves them on a hot day now that he's older.

I haven't seen that happen.. Usually they come out and before you even realize it, they are filled back in.. The fangs seem to be the hardest on them, taking longest to come out and come back thru.. But those little tiny ones across the front.. They would have been the first
to go and then grown back in right away.

Likely the mix, bad teeth genes.

I used to get rope permanents and now want to get supplies to give to grandchildren no one knows how?

I would like to get supplies for a rope permanent or find a hairdresser that at least acts like she knows what I'm talking about. I'm not that old and love the curl from scalp down like a rope and would like it for my granddaughters.

What rod is used for this kind of perm. Hair stylist are taught in beauty school the different kinds of perms but if they are not used often they are not taught anymore. When I was in beauty school I heard the teachers talk about piggy back perms but since they were not being done anymore we were not taught. If you describe how it is done and what kind of rod is used you might get better answers for your question. Good Luck!

are you talking about a spiral perms that sounds more like what you are talking about maybe go into a salon and say that moreso than a rope

how do curling irons and permanents work? is there such thing a true black hair?

how do curling irons and permanents curl hair (in a chemical aspect/bonds)--and second-is there such thing a black hair or is it really just a really dark bland (does black melanin [pigment] exist)?

Hello, I am a Black American and I want to say that there is a differance in Black hair. Most of the time relaxers work for our hair (striaghten). Some Black people do not produce oil like other races of people. We have to use more heat, and we can not over wash our hair because we would lose what little natural oils that we have. Second question, the more natural pigmentation one have darker a person is. Blessings

Permanents - How often can I get one?

I just got my first spiral permanent and hate it! Instead of spiral curls it came out wavy. How long should I wait before getting another permanent, so that my hair isn't damaged?

i know someone who gets one every 3 months so that her curls always look fresh...it would probably be safe to wait another 6 weeks at least.

Why do they call permanents - permanents, when they really aren't permanent?

If they really were permanent they would last a lifetime, wouldn't they?
And what if they were really permanent, and you got one, and it was really awful?
And what was that awful smelling stuff that was used in a woman's hair while she was getting a permanent?
Do women still get permanents?
Or should I just permanently shut-up?

A permanent is permanent until it is cut off. If hair didn't grow your point would be well taken. Of course, your hair may have stopped growing and in that case a permanent would be permanent. That awful smelling stuff is the aromatic 'perfume' of the of the permanent. When I was young they used a 'machine permanent' done with electricity that had no perfume. It was like an octopus with clips on the end of the tentacles that attached to metal curlers. Later they developed the 'machinless permanent' that we have today. Yes women still get permanents. Yes, if you want to keep the peace you have spoken enough.
