Bella Sante Spas in Boston Reports Online Spending Rise of 12 Percent December ... Benzinga

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Bella Sante Day Spas in Boston reports their increase in online spending of 12 percent between December 1 and December 17, 2009 is significantly higher than the national average of the 4 percent increase as reported by Comscore or the 6 percent reported by Coremetrics.

This year people are coming to our website in record numbers to purchase Gift Certificates and that speaks volumes for our premium brand,” said Sarah Lahey, Vice President of Operations of Bella Sante.

The Bella Sante online sales are much higher than the national average partly due to the fact that they have won the most Best of Boston awards ever in the history of Boston Magazine. This remarkable record makes so many customers feel comfortable purchasing gift certificates for family, friends and co workers.

Another reason for the large increase is partially due to the results reported on December 3rd by Citysearch Boston that Bella Sante Spas in Boston won more Best of Citysearch Awards than any other spa in the history of the Best of Citysearch Boston Awards.

Spa Gift Basket

Friends and family members don't pamper themselves as often as necessary, and that's what makes making and giving a spa gift basket an ...

Are you expected to tip for a spa gift package?

For my birthday, I got a gift card package with a facial, massage, and salt scrub at an expensive spa here in NY. I've heard that the tip is usually included in the purchase price of gift packages...it would add up to almost a hundred dollars if i were to tip myself, that seems weird for something that's supposed to be a gift. But I would hate to leave someone without their tip. So am I expected to tip the attendants or is it covered in the package price?

You should always leave some tip. But call the spa before you go and ask in advance. Then you can adjust the amount of the tip. Always remember that these are people who work in the service industy and the tipping is proper etiquette.

Rule of thumb :always tip.
GOD BLESS

Well, if there is a possibility that the tip is included, then you could call the spa and ask them to make sure.

I don't believe a gift card includes a tip, just like a gift card for a restaurant. Tips are to be given according to how good the service is. 15% -20% in the norm.
You could call and ask the spa if your not sure. E

Give what is hard to give and not what you are told to do or expected to do.

Regardless of a coupon, discount, gift card or gift certificate, you should always tip for services rendered -- tip in the amount you normally would depending on the quality of the services. The tip is not always in the gift card for spa packages -- I know they do not do it in the Spa where I perform Reiki....the gift certificate is simply for the service itself. I understand your point about the spa package being a gift -- but you still should provide a tip if you're happy with the services....just as you would do if you were paying for the entire bill yourself.

And have a great time at the spa!

Well I was in that situation and when I tried to tip they wouldn't let me and informed me everything was taken care of. Perhaps it depends on the place. You might call ahead just so you know their expectations and you don't slight anyone or have confusion.

how do i check the balance of my green tangerine spa gift card online? There is no number and no option on site?

There is no option on the green tangerine spa website and there is no number on the back of the card. I;d rather check it online,it says thats how you do it on the card. I dont have time to go up to the salon, too much to do with the holidays arriving and this would be the easiest way.

Making a spa gift package for my boyfriend, what should I put in the basket?

I'm making my boyfriend a "spa" gift package to help him relax. I've included fragrant massage oil, a aromatic candle, a CD of calming music, and some bath salts. What else should I include?

how about some lavender body wash,a soft sponge, scented candles, some lavender bubbles, spread some rose peddles around in the basket for decoration, some tasty wine for relaxing, and maybe a bath pillow to rest his head on

Something I love is Lavendar and Chamomille bubble bath.. its so relaxing and smells heavenly!

Whatever else he likes!

one of them hand held massagers, not an electric one though, so that you can massage him w/ it. Maybe some bubbles for a bubble bath after.

lotion and towel and a wash cloth body spray what a a portable cd player to watch your favorite movie. and a re light

put sented lotion in there so when he is done with his bath you can give him a full body massage. I'm sure he will enjoy that plus will make a fun evening for the both of you.

Yoy should get you a GIRLfriend not a boyfriend.Which one do you like better big balls or big boobs!
Answer at Lopez1994@wal-mart connect.com

Well, I know when I like a spa bath I also like a nice wine and maybe some godiva chocolate to nibble on.

A towel
wash cloths
a loofah pad or a scrub brush
a massager

A loofah, maybe some bath salts. A salt scrub and a gift certificate written by you for one free massage (to go with the oil) A book he would love and maybe one of those pillows you can buy that can be warmed up in the microwave and used for relaxation.

A CONDOM AND SOME KY.....VERY HOTTT!

I'd give him two condoms, lube, a towel and a free pass to the local gay bathhouse. They'll do the rest. BTW does he have a nice basket?

What do you think of a gift certificate for a spa for my wedding party?

I don't know what we should get the boys but we want to get all the girls gift certificate for a spa for at lease 200 each is that good enough. I have 6 bridesmaids. and what should we get the groomsmen.

How about a round of golf for the guys?

Good luck!

If I was your bridesmaid I would be delighted!
Groomsmen: round of golf or tickets to a game.

That sounds great for the girls. I gave my groomsmen a mug for drinking beer or whatever.

I think that is great, $200 is definitely enough.

I like the first answer (a round of golf) for the guys. I know that is a gift my fiance would enjoy. If they don't like golf, maybe tickets to a game (whatever sport they like)?

I was in a wedding last June and I got a $100 gift certificate for SPAFINDER.com.

I loved it!!!

get the guys gift cards to play at some arcade where there is laser tag or something like that. golf is always common, or a batting cage. i dont know if you have these, but magic mountian arcades have mini golf, laser tag, go karts and arcade games. what about something like that? or a day at an amusement park would be fun too!

What a wonderful gift!!!
A+!!

:)

i think its a great idea, since im pretty sure they will be stressed and might be needed a stress free day at the spa :0

as for the guys, why not a gift certificate to best buy or sth?..along the same amount that you will be ginving out to the girls?

Here's a few options for the men. If you are spending 200 on the girls then you have room to play with the guys. How about a weekend fishing trip, or tickets to a game, something they can do together is great guys do like to bond even if they won't admitt it.

I gave spa certificates to each of my bridesmaids and also my cousins who were "assistants" (they reallllly helped me out a lot by handling things the day of the wedding and decorating, etc.). We gave $150 to each maid, and $100 to each assistant, figuring that was enough to cover at least one body treatment. For the groomsmen, we gave them $150 gift card/certificate to somewhere they like to shop. (Don't forget that Amazon.com and lots of other online stores also has gift certificates available!) And $100 certificates to other assistants.

While it might seem impersonal to give gift certificates, you can counter that by including a thank-you note and in it, mention something about where you chose to get certificates from, so they know it was something you thought about. Example, I wrote in my sister's: "I know how much you've wanted to try the stone therapy massage, but that you'd never spend the money on yourself. Let's go together and make a day of it!" Just something like that will let them know you did put thought into it, even if all the girls get the same thing.

Making a spa gift basket, what to include?

I'm making a spa gift basket. So far, I've included massage oil, a candle, and bath salts. What else can/should I put in there?

cucumber face mask, facial cleansers with micro beads, wash cloth is a must, body lotion with a floral scent- preferably lavender, rose or jasmine, maybe a hair band to hold hair out of face when using products, pumice stone-for feet, etc.

face wash
shampoos
lotions
massager
wash clothes
robe?
candles
relaxing music cd like sound of water or something (can get it at target)

free massage. then send the basket to me.

manicure/pedicure set
peppermint foot lotion
pumice stone
nice smelling soap and lotion (the Body Shop has some great ones)

stuff for facials. Olay has some great products for older individuals. For younger people, stick with a St Ives apricot scrub, or some of the individual packets they sell (don't know what brand, but they have cucumber face masks and citrus hair masks...good stuff). Biore also sells a heated face mask - these feel great on while soaking in the tub.

If you have a small budget, spend the bucks on a nice Nutrogena or Olay body lotion, and go with sample sizes of the rest.

maybe some nice natural soap...some washcloths or loofah...some lotion.

a really nice plush robe would be nice. and definitely some lotions. another nice touch would be some slippers too.

satin hands pampering set http://www.marykay.com/s_azad/spabody/bodycare/bodycare/10006981/default.aspx

body wash
candles
body wash gel
body lotion
slippers
foot soak
foot scrub
foot lotion
body spray

All in her favorite scent

a few toys extra batteries you know the usual

What would drive a man buy a woman a spa gift certificate for Christmas?

To get her something she'll use and enjoy ? I think it's a very nice & unselfish gift.

Maybe he thought she would like it.

I would love it. My hubby bought me one for my birthday. It was wonderful. Most women I know would like it

Maybe he thaught that she would enjoy the time by herself to do girly things and spoil herself.

It is a luxurious relaxing gift that she probably would not buy for herself.

It's a nice gift - why not? It lets her relax and be pampered, and it's not a selfish gift. It's a great choice.

XOXO,
Laurie

My guess is because he knew that the woman
would love the experience of going to the spa
and being pampered.

I have no idea. if it included a massage I would be horrified- I don't like strangers touching me! ewwwwww
If it was nails/hair and sauna type thing it would be Okay.

Spa giftcard appropriate gift for kindergarten teacher?

I'm stuck at what to get my son's kindergarten teacher/"teachers" for christmas, I was thinking maybe a gift card to a spa or massage parlor or something but was wondering if that would be inappropriate?

Other ideas would also be helpful:)
hahahaha casa you must be forgetting WE have the best pass rush D!

I say go for the spa gift card, it is something they would like but not want to spend there own money on.

of course it is!!!

i would go for one to staples or walmart, or another store where you can get school supplies.

I think so, maybe a Borders or Barnes and Noble would be more interesting to them, but I don't see anything wrong with a spa giftcard.

Totally chill gift and appropriate.

I mean teachers have a very stressful job, they could use a nice relaxing get away.

straight A's for your son after that gift!!!!

Pool your $$ with other parents. Spas are overrated. A luxury in this economy, may be unnecessary. Go with a Macy's gift card, or something that THEY can decide.. Let her get something more practical, more of what she needs.. is what I'm saying.

P.S. -- Against my Giants, your Flacco will be on his back-o. After many a sack-o.

PPS -- That's IT!!! we're having a bet...

My friend is a 1st grade teacher and got a spa gift card and loved it. The book store gift certificate idea was a great one also.

That's really nice of you.

Im sure she would love it. She probably enjoy relaxing in a spa during the winter break.

I think it would be a great gift, I'm sure they get tons of "teacher" gifts and would like something unique. And if you are implying he has multiple teachers they might be friends so if you got them both a spa gift card they could use together.

Best presentation for a spa day gift?

I'm planning to give my mother a "mother/daughter day" as a gift (lunch, massages, etc). What's the best way to present it to her?

wrap it in a big box with a brick in it.
