Does anyone have any good ideas for decorating and such for a Makeover Party/Spa theme that i am having?

I am an adult and am gonna have facials, pedicures, manicures, hair and make up at the party. I want to decorate my house as if it were a spa. I just need some really good inexpensive ideas. I would appreciate any help and best ideas get 10 points!

Candles. Nothing with a strong scent, but place a few around the room. Play a soothing sounds CD in the background. Go to the local fabric store and buy a few yards of matching colors of pastel fabrics, and use it to drape the furniture and create partitions in the doors leading to the other rooms, to give it an isolated feel. Buy an inexpensive desktop waterfall to add to the soothing atmosphere. Stash magazines and any clutter that doesn't fit in with the atmosphere in another room or a closet. If there's a phone in the room, take it out! Great thing is, you can use most of the stuff again. The fabric over the furniture will make sure that any spills aren't permanent. Good luck-hope it's a success!

Dollar Store! I might also have some scented candles, relaxing/intimate music- maybe something that plays the sounds of a waterfall...You could make it really cute for cheap!

Get aromatherapy candles lavender is best. Every spa i have been to is pretty minimalist so you really don't have to do much decorating.
Great party idea!!

I don't have any ideas but can I come to the party?

8 year old makeover/spa party?

we are having a party for 8 yr old girls, and i need some ideas for food to serve. It needs to be spa/makeover themed, but food an 8 year old would eat. please include recipes if it a specific dish. Thank you for all your help.

gosh! thats one lucky 8 year old!
The idea of sandwhiches is definantly good. But I would suggest gormet style http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/2757/gourmet+chicken+sandwich these look yummy!!
but not something 8 year olds will eat..

It's probably best to go with the main idea of fairy cakes (i like these ideas for cakes http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/search.php?keywords=cup+cake&publication= )

have chips and dip, but also have carrots and celery and dip, just to keep a little with the theme. http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/search.php?keywords=party+food&publication= are some party foods you could make. http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/collections/celebrations

I don't think your daughter wants it to be like those health spas where all you can eat is avacado and vita wheats, Make sure you have lots of nail polishes and face masks! I loved to play with things like that... still do :P

I don't know, but maybe you could try serving sushi if she does want something sophisticated. You don't have to use fish (sushi actually means sticky rice, not raw fish, thats sushimi or something) you can have all kinds!

I hope this helps, sorry its all over the place

a makeover/spa party for an 8 year old? I remember when kids wanted a clown or something...

my 8 year old wants one of these parties as well.

finger sandwiches are always great for kids, and they are kinda spa-ish. you probably wouldn't want to make the cucumber kinds, but regular sandwiches with the crusts cut off would be good. after you cut the crusts off, cut them in half so there are two rectangles. Or, to get more fancy, you can get out your cookie cutters and cut the sandwiches out in some fun shapes.

fruit is yummy and healthy. make some fruit shish ka bobs (however you spell it) to make it a little more 'upscale'. use pineapple, strawberries, grapes. yummy.

Spa/Makeover party?

I have always wanted to have a spa/makeover party. It would be so much fun. Does anyone know what I should do? Should I buy a bunch of spa like things and makeup and then we could make ourselves beautiful. After that we could go out somewhere, like to someone else's party or a teen club or a football game? What do you think would be fun and how many people should I invite?

http://www.million-dollar-mama.com/pages/girls-night-out/spa-party-at-home.htm
Here's a great site about homemade spa parties, it has great recipes to use. Fresh fruits as snacks and relaxing music would be great. Making homemade lotions would be fun and your friends can take them home with them. I would only invite a 3 or 4 of your closest friends so you don't get the add drama that tends to follow larger groups. I think going out afterward would be a good idea, or just have everyone spend the night and hit the mall in the morning.

i think u should invite like 5-10 friends to go to a spa and get nail, hair, and makeup done and then go to a party or stay home and throw a party yourself.hope i help

Throwa spa party and see how it goes if you like it throw another.

that sounds fabulous. make cute little goody baskets of everthing you could imagine in a spa.
you may want to have some fun relay things- where you have to have a shower cap on- put whipcream all over it, and try to catch cheetos on it. that's fun and spa affiliated. whoever has the mos ton their head wins- and whoever loses has to run down the street in their bathrobe and showercap singing the most embarassing thing you can think of.

I think 10 girls maxium would be good unless you want to have a chaotic party. You should buy spa stuff and make yourselves beautiful.(Or you can do each others makeup!) My sister had a makeover party before she and her friends put make up on me so I looked like a clown.

I've had a beauty nights before with my girlfriends since I was 15 and I'm 25 now and still plan them. When we were younger, we just used to rent movies that had a theme (normally the same cute actor in all the movies), order pizza and just talk about boys and girly stuff. Not much has changed including the cute boys in movies, except instead of going home after, we head to a club now with our hair done up and new make up on. You don't necessarily need to do anything else afterwards...see what your friends want to do after. Make it into a sleep over night and ask your parents about making a nice breakfast in the morning to top the whole event off (do some prep work the day before to help out)....kinda like when you get a spa package at a hotel lol.

What is the average cost of a makeover at a spa?

Depends on the spa & their location. The bigger cities like NYC, Miami, and LA, they charge more than the average spa and definitely more than $50, but most normal spa's go for a minimum of $50 or more depending on what is involved in your makeover.

LIKE THIRTY TO 50$

i want to give myself a little spa/makeover what should i do?

what are little at home things i can do to have improvements to myself... like turning on hot water to open my pores... anything easy.???

You could do a soothing oatmeal mask.(for sensitive skin): 2 tablespoons oatmeal; 4 tablespoons of plain yogurt; utensils: small bowl, spoon , in a small bowl, mix the yogurt into a paste. smooth the paste onto your skin and let it sit for 5 minutes. this is great for sunburns- just don't scrub! Rinse with warm water and pat your face dry.

moisturizing avocado mask(for dry skin): 1/2 avocado, 2 tablespoons of honey, utensils: spoon, big bowl, fork. peel and scoop out half an avocado. in a big bowl using a fork, mash the avocado with the honey. smooth the mixture onto your skin and let it sit for 5 minutes. rinse with warm water and pat your face dry. both ingredients pack a moisturizing punch!

Baking soda cleanser (for blackheads): 2 tablespoons baking soda, 2 tablespoons water, utensils: small bowl, spoon. in a small bowl, stir the baking soda and water together. then focusing on the t-zone( forehead, nose and chin), gently rub the mixture on to your skin and let it sit for 2 minutes. this will help loosen stubborn blackheads. rinse with warm water and pat your face dry.
hope that helps... have fun!! :D (try doing a makeover too!)

Spa day/Makeover!?

i kno i already asked this, but no one really answered (sorry if repeating this annoys anyone)

For my 16th birthday (which is in 7 months from now) i was thinking about going for a spa day and getting a mini makeover
i know that my hair will probably be a lot longer by then, but i was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas and pictures of what i should do
makeup ideas, hairstlye ideas, and clothing ideas would be amazing! and pictures and links would be great too!
i have a diamond shaped face, dark brown eyes, ash brown hair (just above the shoulder with layers and angled side swept bangs), and fair skin
i'm also about 5' 7", 117 lb's, skinny, but not too skinny, kind of muscular, and i have a nice butt i guess but small boobs (A cup)

thanks in advance!
no, i'm not pickig one, i'm getting both
but i want ideas for the makeoer please?

There are so many choices that you really want to do something amazing but not kill yourself financially.
First, I would make an appointment at a spa (a nice mid-priced spa) and if you haven't had a teen facial - do it. Most facials include massages of the head and neck and sometimes even the hands. It's a great experience and you can get a "taste of the good life" and really balance your skin tone.

Next, about 1 week later (facials can make your skin blotchy for a day or two if they do extractions) make an appointment for a makeup application at a cosmetic counter of a local mall. Clinique and Lancome are great for that and really teach you about skin care. Then, see in the local paper or call local malls and see if there are "free" personal shoppers to give you advice on clothing.

I wouldn't change the cut right away but would consider some caramel or auburn highlights depending on your skin tone. But check with a stylist you trust.

As for the boobs, Victoria Secret at any store or mall will give you a free measurement and you can try all kinds of "helpful" support bras that may really make your shape shine without being "pushy"

Chocolates, flowers, fruit basket, perfume, spa treatment, makeover, flowers, or.........?

What would YOU like for Valentine's Day?

To have dinner, a few dances and then do my bit to spice the matrimonial fruit basket.

(so to speak)

Dan.
