What is spa contribution for tourism and how to make a spa package?

I'm thinking to design a new spa package which will include in tour package and will allow tourists to experience our spa and could be one of our tourism object. We were just having a grand opening of our spa and think this will be a great idea to introduce our spa and can increase its revenue. This package will be offered to local travel agents and bridal-saloons. How to design a good & interesting spa package, how to decide the selling price & how to sell it? Thank you.

Hi, spa packages are actually getting popular nowadys. Not just the usual spa, people are going more for the holistic and healing spas programs. Key aim of the packages should be targeting relaxation, wellness and health. You did not say where you are located, so I will not be able to offer much.
But take a look at how this is done, like in Thailand. There are spas in hotels and packages offered cover the rooms, spa treatment and dietary health advice. This can be a 1-day, 2-day or even 3-day packages. So the guests gets pampered without having to leave the comfort of the hotel or resort room.
Standalone spa may be a bit difficult as you can only offer the treatment. Try to have a nearby accommodation tied in for a total package deal.
A check on the prices shows that such spa stay cost from between US$100 up to US$500 a day, depending on the location and hotel/resort status.
I guess it will be good if you can try and experience it for yourself. Take a trip to Thailand for one of these packages. :)

When do I tip for a mutli treatment spa package?

I have a gift certificate for multiple treatments at a spa (massage, facial etc...)

Do I tip each person seperately after the service or do I tip one person at the end. How does that work?

That is a tough one. I would say tip each person seperately. But the issue is you may be in a robe and not have money accessible.

What is a good spa package for my wife?

She has had a crappy time finding someone to cut her hair. I thought I would treat her with not only a haircut but a trip to the spa. I've located lots of salons, but I don't know what she would really want besides a massage and a haircut.

I really don't think it matters what kind of spa you go to or anything, as long as you choose a couple of these treatments.
(I would look for a special package or special for a better deal)
Here's a couple essentials:
-body massage
-manicure/pedicure
-facial (definitly!)
-hair condition/scalp massage (this may be together..)

Anyways, I think that if you could find a special package or day treatment with those treatments in them, your wife would love you for it!

cute idea.

What is an alpha dry sauna? Does the fallowing spa package look like a good deal to you?

Never been wanna but try keep in mind I live in Montreal and this place as a hotel costs like $5000 - $20 000 a night no lie Id only go for the spa though cause I know they are the best
Spa Manicure : 45 Min
Swedish Massage : 60 Min
Alpha Dry Sauna : 30 Min
Spa Pedicure With Paraffin or Thermomud Mask : 1 Hr 15 Min

$160 + taxes and gratuities
Id stay at the hotel but Id rather buy a car with the money LOL , could you imagine people actually pay that kinda money to sleep for 1 night ? (craziness)

Oh gosh! I'd buy a car too! But the spa does sound good!

I'll be going to a day spa which the package I'll be having will be $250 for 4 hours... How much should I tip?

This is my first time at a spa. Is there a set amount for a tip or is it a percentage (20% is $50 for the $250 package). What if there is different people working the different treatments (pedicure, manicure, facial and massage). Thanks.

usually its best to tip 15-25%. if there are different people doing different things on you.. either tell the receptionist how to split it up when you check out, or you can leave it up to her to split it evenly.

depends on how well the do your treatments and your waiting time

you'll decide after the treatment...i hope you'll have great time! njoy!

Are you expected to tip for a spa gift package?

For my birthday, I got a gift card package with a facial, massage, and salt scrub at an expensive spa here in NY. I've heard that the tip is usually included in the purchase price of gift packages...it would add up to almost a hundred dollars if i were to tip myself, that seems weird for something that's supposed to be a gift. But I would hate to leave someone without their tip. So am I expected to tip the attendants or is it covered in the package price?

You should always leave some tip. But call the spa before you go and ask in advance. Then you can adjust the amount of the tip. Always remember that these are people who work in the service industy and the tipping is proper etiquette.

Rule of thumb :always tip.
GOD BLESS

Well, if there is a possibility that the tip is included, then you could call the spa and ask them to make sure.

I don't believe a gift card includes a tip, just like a gift card for a restaurant. Tips are to be given according to how good the service is. 15% -20% in the norm.
You could call and ask the spa if your not sure. E

Give what is hard to give and not what you are told to do or expected to do.

Regardless of a coupon, discount, gift card or gift certificate, you should always tip for services rendered -- tip in the amount you normally would depending on the quality of the services. The tip is not always in the gift card for spa packages -- I know they do not do it in the Spa where I perform Reiki....the gift certificate is simply for the service itself. I understand your point about the spa package being a gift -- but you still should provide a tip if you're happy with the services....just as you would do if you were paying for the entire bill yourself.

And have a great time at the spa!

Well I was in that situation and when I tried to tip they wouldn't let me and informed me everything was taken care of. Perhaps it depends on the place. You might call ahead just so you know their expectations and you don't slight anyone or have confusion.

Should I tip for a spa package when the spa says gratuity is included in the price (20%)?

Do you think I need to tip them more when they automatically add on 20% for gratuity. If so, what would the proper amount be and should I leave it at the front desk or give some to each person?

What's a good alternative to a spa package?

I'm finishing up my Christmas shopping, and I can't decide how I can replace my original plans to finish off his presents with a spa package. He likes that sort of stuff, so I'm all open for suggestions!
Oops, bad pronoun usage, him=my boyfriend.

Give him a massage yourself :]

I'll let you use your imagination..

Spinn -- ehm, excuse me, GUY above you!?
