Business As Usual Hand and foot care priced within reach Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Basic hand and foot care services have always been practically the same, with terms such as foot spa, pedicure and manicure, hand, leg and back massages, waxing. A couple of years ago, services went a little further with nail art, nail and eyelash extension, including threading and facial spa.

There are a lot of establishments today that offer these services already but basic differentiators now are generally those that point to overall ambience, general comfort and privacy, and of course the price.

However, Spa 101 Foot Spa & Waxing Salon is hardly the latter. Ambience, a caring, highly-efficient and knowledgeable staff, a significant number of service offerings and more importantly, affordable price, are some of its admirable virtues.

It was not hard to fathom the rationale for putting up Spa 101. Since they all love having their hands and feet done professionally on a regular basis, five high school friends put up Spa 101. Spending P1,000 to P3,500 twice or thrice a month, it dawned on co-owner and Spa 101 general manager Darius Flores to “why not put up one that they themselves will enjoy in the first place?”

Is 14 to young for a leg wax at the spa?

I'm thinking of getting one done. I dont mind pain. And I'm thinking of bringing a friend with me thats the same age. Do you think i'm too young or should I go for it :)
What would you think if you saw a young teen walk into a spa for a wax?

I hate shaving.
And I got the idea because a lady handed me a leaflet when I was walking down the street alone.

It depends where you go. some spa's you either have to be 18 or have your parent there with you. but like i said it depends on the spa. as for it being to young in general.... no i dont think so. some people might. but hey i would have dont it too at that age. i started a lot of things early i started shaving at 8 because my older sis was. so go for it if they allow you too.

It depends on how comortable YOU feel with it. And if your already shaving sounds fine to me.

I would trust "Parker's Mom!"s answer

If you are already shaving your legs, then waxing is no big deal at 14. If I saw you walking into a spa, I would not assume you were there for waxing ;).

Wellllllllllllllllllllll,
You shave right?
well whats the difrnce?...
I'm 14 too^.^

Well, depending on the spas policy on age it may or may not be too young for them. If not though, then I don't see the problem. It's just your legs. Now if you were asking about another area below the waist that would be a different story.

Yeah I think your old enough, as long as your parents don't have a problem with it! And if you don't want to go somewhere then there is at-home-waxing you can get from a drugstore.

I started getting my legs waxed at 11. Its no boggy. And plus, shaving gives you hideous prickly spots and looks terrible.
Waxing eventually makes the hair disappear.
I wouldn't think anything of it.

Go for it babe!

<3

It's too young. Your leg hair wil;l grow in much thicker. You will have to pay evey so ofton to get it done when you can buy a pack of razors for 5$ and they will last you months! Leg waxing is For women in the work world. Not for fourteen year old kids. thats rediculous. sorry i sound rude and outspoken but I really dont think you should maket he mistake of getting your legs waxed.

No, that's not too young if you has sufficient hair growth. You'll probably need a parent to sign off or accompany you, though.

no

Any suggestions for a professional spa to wax legs without the double dipping?

I want to start waxing again but I moved and want to find a proffesional spa for waxing my legs the safe way (no double dipping). I'm so afraid and picky about certain stuff. Especially when it comes to having someones elses bacteria on me. Any spa or salon in the Huntington Beach area that is safe and professional?

Discuss your concerns w/ someone @ the local spa & ask for fresh wax.

BTW, it seems the salon pro.s I've had used a fresh stick to apply each wax strip or one of those roller applicators.

You could also try at home wax kits - like Nads, Sally Hansen, etc. There are also pre-waxed strips that you press on & pull off, no heating required. (e.g. Parissa)

How many times can I microwave the Spa Wax?

I just bought this Spa Wax product and not sure how to use it. How many times can I Microwave it? Should i put some in a separate container or can I just microwave the whole thing every time I use it?

Wax products can be reheated multiple times. The wax will stay warm longer if you microwave the whole thing.

What is the best way to do a Brazilian wax without going to a spa?

I want to get a Brazilian wax sooo bad but I don't want to go to spa to pay so much money. Is there a better way without having the itching from shaving.

There is a product called Micro Tweeze I believe it to be the best wax product of all time, it is simple, clean and inexpensive. Do not use a depilatory as that region is sensitive and likely to result in chemical burns that are far from sexy.

go to brazil

go to Brazil and ask someone to do the wax.

try depilitory cream

Check out that new book, "The Complete Idiots Guide to Brazilian Wax"

Spells it all out.

Good Luck!

Nope-you have to go to a spa if you really want one (although I don't know why you would want one).

you can clip to shorten the hair, then you can use a topical ointment from the drugstore to numb your skin. Also take a tylenol or two to also dull the pain. Then proceed to wax as usual.

just use duct tape. wax is a scam. the trick to hair removal is to do it fast so you dno't damage the deep roots. just cut the hair short if it's not short already, put the tape along the bikini line, work it in good, then pull it off fast and hard. doing it fast hurts a lot less because you pull the hair out of the root instead of pulling the root out of the skin.

Nair is the only thing I can think of.

email me and i will do it for you, for FREE

Get the wax and make sure that you do not make it too hot. I would use baby powder first to make the wax only stick to the hair, not your skin. (Just a light dusting) then make sure that you hold the skin tight and get to it. Might want a good stiff drink before (if you are over 21 of course) Be careful with a lotion hair remover like Nair. It works great, but make sure it stays external. It could burn delicate skin.

I use SurgiWax

do it yourself or get your man to do it for you.....just go to walmart and buy the waxing kit which is not even 10 dollars..all u do is spread the wax on and use the sticky strips to pull out the hair..it will sting for a minute then go away. then it will look Beautiful. but youll have to try it 3-5 times to get used to it.

I was burned by a bikini wax at a day spa - should I sue?

I was pretty badly burned by a bikini wax a few days ago, at a day spa, and now have awful red splotches along my bikini line! I have been happy with the business in the past, this is the first problem I have had, but it is a big one. Should I approach them first and ask for my money back, or should I go to a doctor to verify the burns, and sue for damages? On the one hand, I don't want to cause a problem for a small business just for the sake of making money. But on the other hand, it is pretty miserable - I've worn pajama bottoms all weekend! - and I certainly think they should know so this doesn't happen to another client. I'm not sure what the ethical thing to do is; please help!

I think you should ask for your money back because you did not receive your desired results.

It's true that you got that wax done, but you had the wax done because you wanted to show off your skin. However, with the burnt marks on your bikini line, you're unable to do so. Also, since you've been happy with the business for a while now, I doubt that you'd want to sue, so the best option for you is to just get your money back or receive a free bikini wax the next time you come by there.

luv,
x_musicbabe23

We shouldn't be looking for excuses to sue. That's just wrong.

However, if they botched the job, they should certainly refund your money. If the burns look serious, you should see a doctor and ask them to pick up the bill. If the burns will go away in a little while, then just end it there.

If they are a reputable place, they'll fix the problem, and should offer you some compensation for your troubles, maybe a free couple of days at the spa for any services you want.

If more serious damage is done, maybe it's time to contact a personal injury lawyer to arrange for damages.

You say it is a small business who hasn't caused you any problems before? I would go to the doctor and get your burns documented, then approach the business and ask for your money back with your proof of what is wrong. If your true concern is that you don't want that to happen to someone else, suggest that they 'let go' of the person who did the damages, because money isn't going to ensure they do a better job if there is no repercussion for the employee. I don't know if it's what your concern is, but ethically, I wouldn't sue. I would try to solve the problem. Money isn't going to make your burns feel any better.

I'm so sorry that happened! EEEK! Not an area you want burned!
I think the best course of action would be to go to the business and give them the opportunity to make things right with you. If you've been happy with them before, it may have been a fluke. And you should definitely go see a doctor if you feel your health is at risk or call the doctor to see if there is a topical cream you can use to relieve the pain.
As for suing, it doesn't sound like there was negligence or malicious intent. Mistakes happen and the ethical thing would be just to bring it to the business's attention...not bring the business to it's knees!

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

i think, you should go to the doctor get proof of your burns then try to resolve it with the company,if it doesn't work,Sue,its your right they injured you.

you have the right to file a complaint & ask for a refund.

There is WAY TOO much suing going on today. I lay it out like this. I understand your dilemma, but if you are not permanently scarred to the point of disfigurement, or the company was not grossly negligible, then don't sue. I would however address it immediately with the owner of the company and see if they offer a resolution that fits you. Give the company the chance to solve the problem with you before you go wasting a courts time and basically making some already rich law firm richer. Most companies rely on insurance to cover these issues and whether you sue or not it will be the insurance company that pays out.

How do you make the Paraffin spa wax refills, And can you scent them and add color?

Where can I find a salon/spa in the Orlando area that uses hard wax for brazilian waxing?

I'm looking for a spa or salon that is actually run by Brazilians that use the hard wax.

I asked this a while back and got a great contact. I go to this place regularly, its worth driving. Its called MM Salon, but its right off I-drive (6504 Carrier Dr). They team is all Brazilian, but super nice, prices are VERY good too, i think starts at $30 for full brazilian wax. Their number is 407.345-9110. Good luck!

Pia Esthetics. Go to bypia.com to get directions to the winter park location. excellent service and waxing experts!

sally hansen spa body wax questions?

I am about to use the wax, and I do not know whether after microwaving it, will it be useful afterwards? In other words, is it reusable?

Let me know.

Does Sally Hansen Lavender Spa Body Wax Hair Removal Kit Actually Work?

I was thinking of buying this kit to use on my armpits. I have never waxed before and was wondering how much it will hurt if I use this product. Does it get rid of the hair? How long will it last? If I should use a different product what would it be?

not really...best thing to do is go to sallys beauty supply and get a wax strip or wax products from there.

Is a cheap salon eyebrow wax as good as one at an expensive spa?

I have been growing out my eyebrows a bit because they were too small. Now it is time to start over and get a new shape. Should I go to a cheap salon ($10) or a spa ($20+). Will it make a difference?

I think the wax can make a big difference. Some wax contains conditioners for the skin and peels off with more ease than others. It's true though that the technician makes a big difference. Make sure they are a trained esthetician.

If I were you though I would look into electrolysis for your eyebrows. The shape of brows does not change with the fashion trends.
